Montana Super Skippers
Summer 2009
News Letter
Members of the Tournament Team Traveled to
Kirkland, WA
Where they competed in the tournament of
Champions.
Every member came home with smiles and ribbons
for their hours of practice. Great job
jumpers.
June was a busy month.
Montana Super Skippers held their first “Jump
into Summer Fun Run.” Participants
received a rope and instruction at the end of the 3 mile fun run.
Our oldest runner, Bob Hayes, 80+, even mastered
the double dutch ropes. Bob was recently
seen at the John Colter run, where he confessed that he has not stopped jumping
yet.
“I jump while I am cooking, and I jumped to warm
up before the run.”
Our Summer Camp was full of smiles and
enthusiastic jumpers. There was wild
hair, crazy sock, and more jumping than
can be counted.
Thank You Rattlesnake School for letting us be
healthy and most of all have fun!
At the end of June,
13 members traveled to Galveston, TX, and competed
At USA jump rope’s National tournament. There was a bit of disappointment when, normal speed scores would have placed them in
the top 10.
6 members of our team did ribbon at the National tournament. There were close calls for few, too. Coach Bev was Proud of everyone.
Erin Williams, qualified in the top 12 for Grand
Nationals in 3 events, and placed in 2 of them.
She just wanted to do one jump better in her age division score, and
that is all she needed to become Grand National Champion in 3 minute speed.
Now with Summer coming to a close, it is time to
get fired up about the new 3 eight week sessions, the Super Skippers will be holding. Our First Session Starts September 30th
at 4:05 at the Rattlesnake school. See
our website for details.
