Montana Super Skippers

November  07 Newsletter

Fall is here, and the Skippers are busy perfecting and learning new skills.  Anything is possible with practice, and this group of jumpers have been working hard.   Keep on jumping.

Halloween was filled with speedy spooky, jumpers.  Many took home certificates for longest time jumping, skier, jogging step, high knees etc…  Everyone was ghastly good.

Upcoming Events:

Pie Auction

When:  Nov. 20, Tuesday before Thanksgiving

Where: At Senior Center on Higgins

Jumpers and pies need to arrive promptly at 5:30 pm so we can start on time; auction starts for guests at 6 pm.

What: Each jumper brings 2 HOMEMADE pies, or 3 pies if a family has more than 1 jumper.

-- Homemade pies definitely net better prices.

-- If a family is NOT going to attend, please donate $25 in lieu of pies.

Finger sandwiches and refreshments will be available for a small fee to help with the confusion of making dinner and arriving on time.

Ian Marquand has graciously accepted our DJ position again this year.

-- Invitations will be sent home soon. Each jumper is responsible for inviting 10 guests (grandparents, neighbors, teachers, friends, relatives ...)

Jumpers need to come in uniform with their hair back, tennis shoes,  and their ropes.  Don’t forget smiles, too.

Please volunteer,  many hands make for less work.  There will be a  sign up sheet at practice or contact Dawn McCloney at

542-3525.

Spotlight on Instructors:

Tori Stavish is an energetic 13 year old, Frenchtown 8th grader, who has jumped for 5 years.  She has gone to Nationals 4 out of the 5 years.  Every year, she has come home from Nationals with ribbons or a medal.  Her 3 person Double Dutch team placed 4th with 594 jumps in 2 minutes.

Mayah Vandewetering is a hardworking, 11 year old, and 5th grader from Rattlesnake Elementary School.  She likes speed but also likes freestyle.  She will be starting her 3rd year of competition and is working on qualifying for Nationals for the second consecutive year.

Brittney Dahlberg is a smiling, 16 year old junior from Frenchtown.

She is returning to us after a 2 year leave of absence.  She had competed at local tournaments before turning her sights on high school athletics.  We are glad to have her back as a valuable instructor.
